More of the same from his other books. She's the most fun dead character I've run into in years. Mr. Gosh...pity the poor dude. But they are all such a great team of misfit dead and should be dead that you can't fault them too much for their ways. Lenore Lynchfast is of course the little dead girl that, in my opinion, just got to board with being dead right after being embalmed and decided to just stick around and take care of her business, And with all the infectious charm she has..."fishies go pook, pook, pook" and her helping of the stuffed hamster half by taking the bottom legs of her fashion doll (OH NOOOOO never Barbie..that would violate a trade marked item...wouldn't it) she gathers a cadre of fast friends...the evil vampire Ragamuffin, destined to be a stuffed doll forever...well kinda...because he fed on Lenore's blood after she repaired his doll body. There's Pooty...minion from Heck...sent to retrieve our absent little dead girl who, upon meeting her, decides she's much nicer as is life on topside that she becomes her guardian guarding her from Heck's dark forces. Taxidermy...spooky neighbor resides close by and is also protector of Lenore. Do not cross Taxidermy. Don't even fail to return the borrowed cup of sugar you might have forgotten...he won't. An NEVER speak ill of Lenore! The cast grows, dies, returns, changes...and the artwork, while seemingly simplistic, upon further examination is a rich canvas of intricate complexities of life, death, bugs and cupcakes...Look, buy it for a laugh. Then catch the addiction and get the rest! You'll thank me for this one!

Lenore Vol 3 Cooties! Issues 912 Roman Dirge 9781593620240 Books Reviews
This is Dirge at his best. If you don't laugh out loud at this collection of comics starring LenoreThe Cute Little Dead Girl, you may want to check yourself for a pulse! I love Lenore and have gone through this book more than once when I wanted a good laugh. Another to add to the collection, for sure.
... but all of the Lenore comics are just so morbidly hilarious that you keep wanting to read more. Can't wait to read what Dirge comes up with next.
This compilation is unique because it features Lenore in a comprehensive story, rather than a series of semi-unrelated strips. Watch (read? view?) as Lenore is taken to Hell (previous issue), escapes from Hell, and is hunted by the devil's vicious bounty hunters (Pooty) and is protected by the loyal doll vampire Ragamuffin.
The final comic in this issue is also in color, and included are plenty of pinups including art from other artists, such as Jhonen Vasquez (Zim and JtHM), Voltaire (Deady the Evil Teddy) and others.
This was certainly the best of the Lenore collections, as the longer story is interesting but the comedy is there start to finish. Who could not laugh at the Spam Witch?
This is a must have for Lenore fans.
Roman Dirge, Lenore, the Cute Little Dead Girl Cooties (SLG Publishing, 2006)
Really, the only thing I can say about Cooties is "even funnier than Noogies." But I have to fill up a paragraph somehow, so I'll praise Dirge's continuing to experiment with longer storylines (in fact, Cooties is one storyline to itself, except for the extra bits you find in any ish of Lenore-- one of which is truly side-splittingly funny. I had to stuff my intestines back in) and the fantastic new character who pops up here; I'll let you discover him in all his glory and not spoil the surprise for you. This is great stuff. ****
I was first introduced with Lenore about six months ago and I fell in love with this comic. It is a great story and very morbid and dark. I highly recommend reading these comics.
Lenore is great, every comic is pretty dang funny. Dark, morbid humor for sure. Not for the easily offended or faint of heart.
This is really funny, and a lot of stuff happens. I didn't like the first eight as much because they were little shorts, they didn't have much in the department of characters, plots or dialogue. Still, the first eight were good, too, but I like these last four the best.
